As of May 30, 2022, CWD (Community Waste Disposal) will handle sanitation and recycle services for the City of Glenn Heights. Below are the most FAQ regarding the City's solid waste transition.
Solid Waste Transition FAQ:
Why did the City switch services from Waste Management to CWD?
- Waste Management’s contract was set to expire on May 31. The City solicited proposals from solid waste providers and CWD presented the best value with additional services included.
On which day will my garbage and recycling services commence?
Is there a rate increase for the new solid waste service?
No. In fact, the overall rate will decrease from $15.60/month to $15.11/month for one garbage cart and one recycling cart.
Additional garbage cart will cost $6.65/month and each additional recycling will cost $2.77/month.
4. How big are the carts?
- The new carts are 95-gallons in capacity.
5. Will the services be the same?
Weekly garbage collection services on a specific day of the week, depending on where you live.
Bi-weekly recycling services on the same day of the week as the garbage collection services.
