Municipal Court 

Jurisdiction

The Glenn Heights Municipal Court has jurisdiction over all fine-only offenses, including but not limited to Class C misdemeanors, traffic offenses, violations of the penal code, city ordinances, and animal control offenses.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Glenn Heights Municipal Court is to provide fair, impartial, and timely adjudication of all cases. We are committed to treating all defendants with courtesy and respect, ensuring equal and just treatment for all individuals who come before the Court.

Court Appearance Requirements

When a citation is issued, you have 20 business days from the issue date to appear in court. You and/or your attorney may choose one of the following options to make your appearance:

    In-Person Appearance: Appear in open court on the scheduled date.

    Mail Appearance: Submit your plea by mail before the initial appearance date.

    In-Person at Court Facility: You may appear in person at the court facility.

Important: Action must be taken on or before the initial appearance date to avoid additional charges. If you choose to submit your plea by mail, or email at municipalcourt@glennheightstx.gov, the court must receive it on or before the initial appearance date.

Court Online Payments


    Payment Processing: Your online payment will be processed and received by the Glenn Heights Municipal Court on the next business day. To avoid additional fees or the issuance of a warrant, please ensure that your payment is received by the due date.

    Warrant Status: If you currently have an active warrant, it will remain outstanding until the court receives your payment on the next business day.

    How to Pay: To submit your payment by appearing in person, via mail, or online. Please visit the Municipal Court Payment Website to complete the transaction.

Juveniles and Minors with Alcohol or Tobacco Charges

Juveniles and minors charged with alcohol or tobacco-related offenses are subject to a separate set of rules for their court appearance. Please refer to the specific section on Juveniles for detailed information on the appearance requirements and procedures.

First Appearance

Your first appearance in court is to determine your plea. During this appearance, you will have the following options:

    Guilty or No Contest Plea: If you plead guilty or no contest, you will also be waiving your right to a trial.

    Not Guilty Plea: If you plead not guilty, the court will schedule a pre-trial conference with the City Prosecutor to discuss the case further.

* Pre-trial Conferences are held on the third Thursday of every month.

Conduct and Dress Code for All Court Appearances

To maintain a respectful and orderly environment, the following conduct and dress code must be observed for all court appearances:

    Weapons: No weapons are allowed in the court facility.

    Attire: The following attire is prohibited:

o    Halter tops

o    Shorts

o    Inappropriate or disruptive clothing

    Food and DrinkNo food, drinks, or gum are permitted in the courtroom.

    Electronic Devices: The use of cell phones and other electronic devices is prohibited.

    Recording Devices: Audio or video recordings are not allowed in the courtroom.

    Newspapers: No newspapers or reading materials are permitted.

Security: All individuals and packages are subject to search upon entering the court facility.
