Meter Services

Meter Services is comprised of three technicians and maintains approximately 6,500 water meters currently in use. This division is responsible for installing meters in new subdivisions for both commercial and residential customers in the City of Glenn Heights as well as Oak Leaf.

Duties

Meter Services reads and records consumption on all meters on a monthly basis for billing purposes. At the customer’s request, Meter Services turns on or turns off water service at the customer’s address. Customers may also request Meter Services to inspect the water meter and investigate high consumption bills. If any leaks are found, Meter Services will advise the customer and explain which party is responsible for repairs.

Meter Services is also expected to assist Public Works on special projects or in the event of a natural disaster.
