2023 Public Safety Academy

The Glenn Heights Public Safety Academy is a free comprehensive course designed to give residents an inside look at the inner-workings of the Police and Fire Departments. Through nine weeks of hands-on training and classes taught by our members, citizens will walk away with a better understanding of Public Safety while strengthening bonds between citizens and public servants.
Topics covered will include:
- Touring the Public Safety Facilities
- Patrol Operations
- Criminal Investigation Division
- 911 Communications
- Animal Control
- Fire Apparatus
- Bunker Gear
- Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
- Physical Agility
- Forcible Entry Vehicle Extrication; and
- Fire Extinguisher Emergency Medical Services

Who can attend?
Anyone 18 years of age or older over, and is a resident of Glenn Heights.
When are classes?
Classes are Thursday evenings beginning April 6th through June 1st, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Will I be subject to a background check?
Yes. All applicants will have a basic background check. However, having a ticket, arrest, or conviction may not disqualify you.
